| St.John’s is difficult to miss, perched halfway up the hill behind the houses and shops of Barmouth, it is of almost cathedral-like size and proportions. The church was built in the 1890s to accommodate the growing number of visitors and residents in Barmouth. Its size and spaciousness convey a sense of God’s majesty that wonderfully complements the intimacy of our other churches. The font is worth a visit in its own right; a life-size (?) angel holds up a shell in a free copy of Thorwaldsen’s font in Copenhagen Cathedral. | |
